Japanese-inspired slow cooker made dish.

Ingredients

  • 500g ground beef 
  • 110g grated carrots
  • 1 spring onion roughly chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic
  • ½ cup soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar
  • 420ml chicken stock or beef stock
  • 2 packs ramen noodles

Method

  1. To a large frying pan over medium heat, brown the beef until no longer pink. Drain any grease, if necessary.
  2. Pour the cooked beef into the slow cooker.
  3. To the slow cooker add the carrots, and spring onion.
  4. In a medium bowl, whisk together the garlic, soy sauce, brown sugar and chicken stock.
  5. Pour the sauce into the slow cooker and stir to combine.
  6. Cover and cook on LOW for 4-6 hours.
  7. Approximately 30 minutes before serving, add the dry ramen noodles. If using chicken noodles with chicken stock add the seasoning packets otherwise discard.
  8. Stir those around frequently to make sure they get all covered and cook evenly.
  9. When the noodles are tender, serve, topping with additional spring onion and some sesame seeds.
