Highlight to show groups better in Microsoft Excel data using a helper column.
Populate additional column with a formula. If the data has headings, put 0 next to the headings.
=IF(A2=A1,D1,N(D1)+1)
D is where the additional column is.
In Conditional Formatting, use the following formula to identify which rows to highlight
=ISODD($D1)
